San Javier adds for Equality (09/10/2020)

| The Department of Women and Equal Opportunities launches a campaign with which it is intended to maintain the gender approach in daily activity | The Councilor for Women and Equal Opportunities, Ana Belén Martínez today presented the campaign "San Javier + x =" San Javier adds for Equality with which it is intended to project the municipal commitment to equality as an attitude that is reflected in a transversal way in the daily activity of the City Council.

The campaign, which has among its objectives to influence social awareness about equality and gender non-violence, also aims to involve all neighbors as necessary actors to advance full equality for all people. In an event held in the plenary hall with the presence of the mayor, José Miguel Luengo, part of the municipal corporation and CAVI San Javier-Mar Menor staff, Ana Belén Martínez pointed out that with this initiative, she will work on raising awareness, raising awareness and the implication, it is intended that equality and gender issues go beyond March 8 and November 25 so that they are present in everyone's daily activity.

The campaign was born as a formal framework that will host the activities that will be programmed successively over time and will be developed with various supports that give it visibility. One of them will be the pedestrian crossings of the municipality that will be transformed with phrases or drawings alluding to gender equality or against gender violence that will come out of a participatory action with young people from the municipality's institutes.

The City Council workers will have a desktop display with the campaign logo and will include a signature on their documents that shows the municipal commitment to equality and non-violence.

The municipal website will include a website dedicated to the campaign that will include an agenda of the events and activities that are being organized.

In addition, roll up with the campaign logo will be used in institutional events and canvases will be placed in significant public spaces such as the façade of the City Hall where it already hangs from early in the morning. The councilor Ana Belén Martínez explained the justification for the chosen logo, highlighting the term "sum" in the sense of both avoiding any type of confrontation and incorporating new initiatives on gender equality, and pointed out that "equality respects differences from the understanding ".

The mayor, José Miguel Luengo, highlighted the "fresh" nature of the campaign, highlighting its positive language, without exclusions and its clear intention to join forces.
