The Civil Guard closes an operation with a dozen detainees for theft in vehicles (16/10/2020)

| They are attributed the alleged responsibility of the crimes of robbery with force, theft and damage | To date, more than twenty crimes have been clarified During the proceedings, the Benemérita has recovered two mopeds and several stolen effects The Civil Guard of the Region of Murcia has carried out operation 'Dingo', an investigation aimed at clarifying robberies, thefts and damage to vehicles in San Javier, which has resulted in the dismantling of a criminal group made up of a dozen of people and settled in San Javier, and the clarification, so far, of more than 20 crimes. The actions began at the beginning of the year, when the Civil Guard opened an operation after detecting an increase in the commission of crimes against property in San Javier, specifically robberies, theft and damage to vehicles, events that had caused social alarm in the population. The first steps of the operation were developed on the commission of the criminal acts with the practice of exhaustive technical-ocular inspections and other investigations, which allowed determining that they were committed at night and using force. The evidence obtained directed the investigators to various active groups of people of Moroccan and Spanish nationality, all residents of San Javier, which allowed them to know perfectly the places with the least number of pedestrians and few security measures to plan their illegal actions. The objective of these criminals was mainly the robbery inside vehicles.

Their extensive criminal experience allowed them to discriminate between those vehicles whose access was more agile, both because of the door locks and the broken windows.

The purpose was to access the interior as discreetly and quickly as possible, to avoid attracting attention, and to remove all valuable effects. In one of the cleared robberies, one of those now arrested was caught hiding under a vehicle, in order not to be detected, at that moment he was carrying several tools, apparently, to force the door locks. On other occasions, the members of the criminal group were surprised with emergency hammer hammers, used to easily break the glass and quickly access to remove objects from inside the vehicles. Investigators have also been able to verify that almost all members of these criminal groups have numerous police records for committing similar crimes and others related to common crime. Collaboration of the Local Police of San Javier The development of the investigation, on the one hand and, in parallel, on the other, the prevention devices carried out by both the Benemérita and the Local Police of San Javier have made it possible to locate the area of ??action of the criminal group in the street of San Javier and identify to all its members. After establishing the corresponding search device on the suspects, in recent days the Civil Guard has completed the exploitation phase of the operation with the location and arrest of a dozen people who are attributed the alleged responsibility of the crimes of robbery inside vehicles, theft and damage. In addition, the development of the investigation and the exhaustive analysis of the information obtained has made it possible to establish the links between all the detainees, among which several groups are differentiated, and to clarify, so far, 22 criminal acts committed in the urban area de San Javier, not ruling out that this figure rises as the operation progresses. During the development of the operation, the Civil Guard has recovered two mopeds and several stolen effects that have already been returned to their owners. The detainees, the effects recovered and the proceedings carried out have been made available to the Investigating Court of San Javier (Murcia). Citizen collaboration In this sense, the Civil Guard wants to highlight the importance of citizen collaboration, being essential, as in this case, the information provided by neighbors about criminal acts and calls on any citizen who observes any suspicious action to notify by telephone 062 , available 24 hours.
