José Miguel Luengo reported that the rate of cases in the last 14 days per 100,000 inhabitants of San Javier stands at 650 cases, well above the 500 cases with which the alarms are turned on for the adoption of more restrictive measures. In an intervention in the municipal social networks, the mayor of San Javier pointed out that "the current situation of health alarm requires extraordinary measures, because it is not possible to depend on social responsibility." Luengo added that "we need at least 15 days to limit mobility, prohibiting entry and exit from the municipality to help cut the rate of infections that we are experiencing in San Javier," where in the last 24 hours 32 new positives were recorded with a total of 237 active cases. The mayor of San Javier acknowledged that "it is a tough and difficult measure at a time when we are all tired but we have to prevent fatigue from turning into fear due to the collapse of services." Luengo appealed to individual responsibility and the utmost respect for the sanitary measures that are being approved.
"It is time to protect and take care of each other and that is done by avoiding social relationships, using a mask, maintaining social distance and extreme hand hygiene."
