ADACCE appeal before the City Council decisions regarding opening hours Estacio Bridge (19/06/2010)

ADACCE proceeded to appeal to the City Council of San Javier municipal decisions regarding the opening hours of the bridge during the months of June 2010 and later.

From the June 4 City Council is making only five starts of the bridge, with the following schedule: 8,00-10,00-12,00-18,00 and 20.00 hours but lessen the damage caused Canal users to not restore the original situation again stressing the discontinuity of services, particularly in the six hours of noon that it remains closed, not allowing the return at noon and the outputs of the first afternoon at the sailing vessels seeking access to both coasts in the mornings or afternoons.

The opening displacement of 12.00 to 14.00 hours and 18.00 to 16 hours would have substantially lessened the damage caused but clearly warns municipal disregard the legitimate interests of users of the Canal for the benefit of traffic on the bridge.

On May 31 the BORM published in the tender by the Municipality of San Javier's contract maintenance, opening and closing Estacio Bridge contemplated in the Summer Opening: 11/09/1913 - 15-17-19-21 hours (from 1 June to 30 September) and Winter :10-12-14-16-18 to 20 hours (from 1 October to 31 May), although this summer season commence once awarded the bid and signed the contract with the contractor, in the first days of next July.

Although this extension of time tends to restore normalcy in the navigation channel and must respect the rights acquired by users of the Canal del Estacio far does not even restore the original schedule, we introduce an unreasonable delay opening in winter and summer and the confusion of hours odd and even between different times of the season when the interests of navigation and nautical tourism, economic base of first order in the Mar Menor and the Mediterranean coast region, require a regular schedule as simple and clear as possible, aiming to seasonality in the search for economic and social return on investment by large employers and businesses.

It is therefore prior to filing an administrative appeal, ADACCE asked the City of San Javier that it amend the decision to continue restricting the opening hours of the Bridge into account the reasons and considerations, and continued with openings original schedule, that is open every hour from 8 to 22 hours in winter and summer.
