The mayor opened a conference room dedicated to the memory of Araceli Rubio, municipal Tourism technician who died last year (02/07/2010)

The mayor of San Javier, Pepa García accompanied by Director General of Tourism, Marina Garcia has opened this morning in Santiago de la Ribera, the congress hall "Araceli Rubio Vanity" in memory of the head of municipal service late last year Tourism in an act that has had the presence of his widow, Ignacio Segura, and the rest of his family, the president of the Commonwealth Tourism del Mar Menor, José María García, Councillor of Tourism of San Javier, Jesus Montesinos, authorities Araceli and sisters.

The conference room is located on the top floor of the civic center "Prince of Asturias" in Santiago de la Ribera and has a capacity of 200 people.

The renovation work that involves an investment of 332,000 euros funded by the Commonwealth Tourism and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the mayor explained, allow the separation of living in three rooms for holding workshops.

It also has an advanced technology system which includes simultaneous translation.

Pepa García recalled how he Araceli Rubio itself which for years promoted the construction of the convention hall as a tourist resource of the municipality, which is why, at the request of the Department of Tourism, the government team termed the room approved "Araceli Rubio Vanity" intended "to keep his memory forever perpetuated his name on something she started."
