The library of San Javier invited to celebrate spring (07/04/2016)

The library of San Javier celebrates spring with an extensive program of activities that includes about 40 different actions including exhibitions, workshops, storytelling, contests, book presentations, lectures, and a special dedicated to World Book Day, which is celebrated on 23 of April.

Councillor for Culture, David Martinez and coordinator of municipal libraries, Toni Diaz, and the librarian Luis Montealegre presented this morning the program of activities, in the library of Santiago de la Ribera "because we want to give visibility to all library resources of the municipality "said the mayor that highlighted the presence of Cervantes and Shakespeare in the events to be held in the coming weeks, to mark the fourth centenary of the two universal writers.

Cervantes and Shakespeare will be present through the Conservatory of Music in San Javier has made a selection of short pieces of time that will be interspersed with readings in English, with the collaboration of the Official School of Languages, and Spanish, with the Reading Club Library, the works of both writers.

San Javier Theatre Group will present "Shakespeare and Cervantes from the underworld" and the writer Antonio San Martin will present his book "The Hamly", "a satiric adaptation, in a minor key Shakespeare's Hamlet, with a happy ending".

The program includes surprises such as laboratory poetry with the poet murciano Soren Peñalver to give a recital before promoting among participants writing a poem set.

It will be the prelude of World Book Day to begin, as always, with a "manifestation" street for reading on Friday 22 April, with family activities on both Friday and Saturday 23.

No shortage storytellers, to encourage reading among children, with the program "It's not a tablet, is a book" to be held in schools, and a monthly program with the storyteller Maria Teresa Carretero that Fridays be developed May in San Javier, Santiago de la Ribera, El Mirador and La Manga.
