Environment takes raptors school students "Sacred Heart" (07/04/2016)

Councillor for Agriculture and Environment, Antonio Luengo today praised the educational work carried out at school, "Sacred Heart" with the school garden that manages the center itself, using only ecological processes.

The mayor congratulated those responsible during his visit to the school on the occasion of the exhibition of birds of prey who have enjoyed the students of 5th and 6th of Primary Education within the annual environmental awareness campaign that promotes the Department of Environment in schools in the municipality with different activities.

A monitor specialist in this type of birds, Dwarf Green told the students in the gym center, features owls and eagles accompanied by several species of these important birds for maintaining the cycle of life plant and animal.

Luengo noted the importance of children to experience all environmental and aware of the importance of nature and the cycle of life, which linked with ecological care of the garden that keeps the center.

"Children already know that their garden, where chemical fertilizers are used, is not harmful to any bird," he said.

Professor center Jose Joaquin Izurzu highlighted the educational importance of the school garden for students as from planting seeds, which are grown in the previous year, to fertilizers, which are made using compost made at school until pest control, it has done naturally, conveying to children the value of organic farming.

The activity with birds, who have already experienced students from schools in El Mirador, Fulgencio Ruiz Carrion Valverde and continue their journey by other schools in the municipality, as El Recuerdo where probably come next week.
