Aidemar last night received the Gold Medal of the City of San Javier (16/04/2016)

The Association for the Integration of the Disabled in the district of Mar Menor, AIDEMAR, last night received the Gold Medal of the City of San Javier that was given by the mayor, José Miguel Luengo President of the entity, Francisco Garcia in an act held in the hall of the City Council attended by the Minister of Family and Equal Opportunities, Thomas Violante.

The mayor of San Javier referred to AIDERMAR as a landmark of the town, a hallmark that has grown "much good" in its 34 history history in which "has brought us dignity, among other things, for their dedication disabled ".

Luengo also stressed the social commitment and the values ​​of solidarity that brings this entity "which is a regional and national reference in the attention to disability."

Luengo had a special mention for former Mayor Juan Martinez Pastor, who attended the event, and whose legislature the record for the delivery of the Gold Medal Aidemar began.

The record had from the first unanimous support not only of the municipal corporation but of the entire local society that explicitly supported the initiative during the public exhibition of the same.

Francisco Garcia reviewed the history of the Association that began with five employees and 21 children and currently has centers spread throughout the region where they work 270 professionals and serves 600 people.

The Minister of Family and Equal Opportunities, Violante Thomas joined the public recognition that provided the City of San Javier to Aidemar attending a function "in which I am one of mine," said the minister who was president of the Federation of Organizations for Persons with Intellectual Disabilities and Cerebral Palsy of the Region of Murcia (FEAPS).

Violante Thomas recognized the work of professionals and volunteers in the history of Aidemar and "example of courage and effort that every day give people with disabilities."

One of the young people living in the residence and 10 sheltered homes has Aidemar, Leticia Bibó joined the act and gave voice to the people who attend this center "in which I took 7 years and where I feel like family."

The surprise of the night came at the beginning with a historical video in which images of 34 years ago with the first professionals and the first children served by the center showed, and end with the announcement of the mayor, José Miguel Luengo's appointment a street dedicated to Rufino Garcia Quesada, promoter, founder and president of Aidemar in the early years of the association.

Rufino Garcia Quesada thanked with emotion and joy distinction that made him share with the audience that filled the hall of his memories of those first difficult years "in which people were afraid of me because I always was asking for something to Aidemar" he joked.

The Blue Division Street, which was the first seat of Aidemar, in what was then "the practitioner's home" and where he currently is the Department of Youth, will soon change its name in homage to Rufino Garcia was much celebrated by Aideman whole family.
