Bassist and Swedish cellist Lars Danielsson will be responsible for opening the curtain on the 19th edition of the Festival International de Jazz de San Javier 2016 with the first concert one night, in which the lyrical and airborne sound of Nordic jazz gives way to rock more genuine with Ken Hensley, founder and co-leader of the legendary band Uriah Heep, and composer of most of the classic hits of the British group.

Lars Danielsson, one of the most outstanding musicians of Scandinavian jazz, will star the first evening concert, which will present his latest album "Liberetto 2", accompanied by a band of excellent musicians with whom he has formed his new quintet, between which include the legendary drummer Magnus Öström concerning among European drummers, who has visited the San Javier Jazz EST band led by the late pianist Esbjörn Svensson.

European label star Lars Danielsson ACT debuts at Jazz San Javier accompanied by other musicians tall, as the pianist Grégory Privat, the prestigious British guitarist John Parricelli and German trumpeter Sebastian Studnitzky.

With a strong classical training, Lars Danielsson, who has played with artists such as John Scofield, Jack DeJohnette and Randy and Michael Brecker, among many others, it represents a solid proposal the current Nordic jazz, with a style that highlights the melody and not without lyricism "groove".

Hensley is tied to the rock band Uriah Heeep of which he was one of its founders, as well as author of most of his greatest hits from 1969 to 1980, when he left the band to start a solo career that had begun with the remembered album "Proud Words On A Dusty Shelf".

Ken Hensley also provided the characteristic sound of Uriah Heep body and is considered one of the legendary British rock organists, where there alongside other greats like Jon Lord, Brian Auger or Steve Winwood.
