The beaches of San Javier closed the summer season on September 15 with 13,826 assists by rescuers (07/10/2016)

The municipal aid and rescue in beaches made a total of 13,826 attendances, on the beaches of Santiago de la Ribera and La Manga, during the summer season that ended last Sept. 15, according to the Councillor for Public Safety Teresa Foncuberta.

The mayor explained that professionals and rescue lifeguard service on the beaches of Civil Protection a total of 8,255 social and informative interventions, among which the 2,051 interventions that have been made to help bathe the disabled.

Rescuers also attended 6.105 consultations made by users on the beaches.

First aid interventions and cures have experienced a significant increase reaching the 5,556, compared with 2,580 that occurred the previous year.

Most were pitting (3,903) and injuries (1,117).

On the contrary, he dropped the rescue of people passing of 55 in 2015 to 39 in 2016, while there were three boats rescued in both years.

Foncuberta added that fortunately cases of immersion and cardiorespiratory stop beaches left no death during the campaign last summer on the beaches of the municipality.

Interventions by drowning spent seven in 2015, when there was one death, three cases in 2016. Last summer there was no case of cardio-respiratory arrest, compared to the six that occurred in 2015, with the result then two deaths.

Season I covers October 1 to May 31;

the second increase staffing at Easter and in the first half of June;

the third from 16 to 30 June and from 1 to September 15, and the fourth during the months of July and August where the service is one hundred percent.
