Replacement of gas-oil with natural gas in the heated pool will allow cost savings of 40% (25/10/2016)

The City Council agrees with Redexis Gas Murcia, the arrival of natural gas to other facilities at the Sports Centre and provides for progressive incorporation into other municipal agencies

The City of San Javier has invested a total of 38,437 € in the renovation of two boilers at the municipal pool to replace the combustion of gas-oil with natural gas which will save 40% on fuel costs, Councilman she reported Sports, Carlos Albaladejo.

Albaladejo added that the savings in air conditioning of the swimming pool can be further enhanced by greater energy efficiency demonstrated by new condensing boilers off the old gas-oil boilers which have been replaced.

The mayor of Sports, also recalled that in the last two years, a savings of 20% was achieved through improved maintenance of facilities in the heated pool at the municipal sports center and commissioning of 21 solar panels, with an investment of 30,250 €.

The arrival of natural gas to the swimming pool has been possible thanks to the agreement signed between the City of San Javier and the company Redexis Gas Murcia, distributor of natural gas in the municipality, which has invested 25,000 euros in a pipeline of 300 meters gives Sports service.

This channel will also serve to once again renewed consumer equipment, bring natural gas to the covered pavilion, dressing rooms and gym, locker rooms of the football field, and changing the athletic field and cafeteria facilities completing the sports arena.

The agreement for the incorporation of natural gas to the services of the sports center was recently signed at a meeting in the city of San Javier between Mayor Jose Miguel Luengo, the Councillor for Sports, Carlos Albaladejo, Delegate of Redexis Gas in the Region Murcia, Pedro Santos and the head of Industrial Gas Redexis in the region, Angel Cubero.

The benefits of replacing diesel with natural gas are even greater, recalled Albaladejo, because gas is the fossil fuel with less environmental impact, which will also be reduced by 12% the emissions of CO2 and other polluting gases into the atmosphere.

The City of San Javier aims to be among the very energy efficient and environmentally friendly in the region so it plans to take a step further and, by signing a new agreement with Redexis, to bring natural gas to all units municipal, such as kindergartens, schools, and day care centers, among others, conducting a study on the possible energy, economic and environmental improvement would bet by the natural gas savings.
