Thirty municipal workers are trained in traffic accident prevention (17/11/2016)

The Department of Occupational Risks in collaboration with Ibermutuamur today held a training day to improve awareness of traffic accidents in 30 municipal workers whose work involves the usual driving.

The day, which was held in the civic center of Santiago de la Ribera, included a theoretical and an interactive part in which have been incorporated 3D driving simulators that have tested participants who also received notions of first aid .

Thanks to the new technologies incorporated in this initiative the attendees were able to drink alcohol in a virtual way to know the levels of alcoholemia that generated the drink that they had previously chosen in a computer, as well as the necessary time that their body needed to eliminate it.

The Councilor for Labor Risks of the City of San Javier María Dolores Ruiz who attended the conference with the territorial director of Ibermutuamur, Rafael Antonio Imbernón, stressed the importance of this type of actions and reiterated the commitment of the City of San Javier with continuing education Of its workers in prevention.

Rafael Antonio Imbernón pointed out the importance of attending to driving as a work risk since, he said, "one in every three fatal accidents in the workplace were caused by a traffic accident."

Likewise, 11% of occupational accidents are related to driving, increasing by 25% the days of work accident, whose average is in 33 days.
