The mayor of San Javier José Miguel Luengo stressed today that the arrival of Carrefour in the municipality, after the purchase of Eroski by the French chain, "not only will not mean the loss of jobs for the workers of the previous chain, Increase the workforce by 30% ".
This was announced today by Carrefour regional director, Amparo Capilla, who met the mayor in the City of San Javier to maintain a first contact with the opening, scheduled for mid-February, of the hypermarket that will also have the Providers.
At the end of the meeting, also attended by Councilor for Trade and Employment, Antonio Martínez, the head of Carrefour confirmed the maintenance and expansion of jobs, as well as the commitment to continuous training of workers in the chain.
Amparo Capilla added that Carrefour "comes with humility and with the intention of being a good neighbor" for San Javier, "a very important place in the Region", reason why also will be contacted with suppliers of the zone to offer them the possibility to join To the 240 regional suppliers that already work with Carrefour.
Luengo said that the arrival of Carrefour in the municipality is a boost for the local economy, by creating jobs not only direct but also indirect, including the local productive sector among its usual suppliers.
Carrefour plans to close the hypermarket of the Dos Mares shopping center, formerly Eroski, from next February 6 to reopen it renewed on February 23.
