The works to expand the Point of Attention to Children of El Mirador are already under way.

The mayor José Miguel Luengo and the pedestrian mayor Tania Linares visited yesterday the works whose main objective is to enlarge the available places for the next course and to respond to a demand of the neighbors of the Mirador, explained Luengo.

Once the works were visited, Mayor Jose Miguel Luengo reported that the works, which consist of the construction of a classroom of 29.30 square meters, with a toilet of 8.10 square meters, and a corridor, will be finished before two months.

The new classroom is integrated into the building as it occupies an existing porch facing the courtyard.

Luengo, who visited the center accompanied by the ediles of Social Services, Estíbaliz Masegosa, Public Services, Maria Dolores Ruiz and Urbanism, Antonio Luengo, recalled that the works whose bid budget amounted to € 36,785 were awarded to the company Talleres y Conducciones Investments

Tania Linares expressed her "satisfaction" for the beginning of a work "highly anticipated by the neighbors since the center had been small for the current needs of El Mirador that continues to grow."

The PAI of El Mirador, which depends on the Department of Social Services, will increase the next course its places depending on the existing demand, since the new classroom is prepared to accommodate babies, in which case would have 8 seats, or a mixed group Of 2 and 3 years, which could reach up to 20 new places, explained the mayor Estíbaliz Masegosa.

The Point of Attention to Children of El Mirador currently attends 32 children from 4 months to 8 years.

The center differs from the rest of the Children's Schools, in that its purpose is to help to reconcile work and family life, so it opens from before 08:00 to 18:30 uninterrupted, as a kitchen service Included, also serving older children.

The director of the center explained that the older children, go to the center, from 14: 30h when they finish school, and participate in extracurricular activities.
