20th International Jazz Festival of San Javier (10/05/2017)

Percussionist Jorge Pérez leads the fusion supergroup Patax with which the night of July 21 will present a fast-paced proposal with Latin jazz, funk and flamenco that includes American violinist Maureen Choi as a special guest.

The same night, saxophonist Charles Lloyd, a live jazz legend who will visit the San Javier Festival for the first time, will present his new album "I Long to See You" with three great musicians Gerald Clayton, Reuben Rogers & Eric Harland.

The program of the XX edition of the Festival also includes the prestigious supergroup Fourplay that returns eleven years later to San Javier with its admired and recognized fusion proposal incorporating R & B and pop to jazz.

It will be the night of July 22nd, which will be booking its second concert to the blues and southern rock of the United States with one of its greatest exponents, Texan guitarist Buddy Whitington in a project of the Festival itself in which he will play along with the guitarist of blues rock murciano Santiago Campillo, founder and former guitarist of M-Clan, and keyboardist Mauri Sanchís.

On July 28, a special project for the 20th Anniversary of the festival, led by Jorge Pardo, jazz and flamenco musician, saxophonist and flute player, Best European Jazz Musician Award in France, will be premiered. Flamenco jazz Niño Josele, pianist Albert Sanz and Tomasito to dance.

The penultimate night of the Festival, on July 29th comes the Barcelona Big Blues Band with its energetic proposal of blues, R & B, swing and jazz with guests of luxury like the saxophonist Dani Nel.lo and the British tenor Ray Gelato.

The evening will be completed by Boston's top blues vocalist Toni Lynn Washington, who will be joined by Italian super guitarist Luca Giordano, with Sax Gordon as a special guest on the saxophone.

The closing of the festival, on July 30th, is dedicated to one of the greats of European jazz, the Frenchman Michel Legrand, pianist, arranger, and composer of over 200 soundtracks and songs that have become jazz classics.

Michel Legrand, winner of 3 Oscars and 5 Grammy Awards, is the most important living musician in France, and along with Charles Aznavour, the greatest exponents of the golden age of French music.

Free concerts outside the auditorium

After the success of last year, the San Javier Jazz Festival returns to the street with free concerts in Santiago de la Ribera, La Manga del Mar Menor and San Javier.

The first of the concerts will arrive on July 12 in San Javier's Plaza de España with Funkystep & The Sey Sisters, a band of six musicians with a formidable vocal trio formed by the three Sey sisters, with which they pay homage to the great Of black music.

On July 18, the septet of Murcia and Alicante musicians, Zoo Suiters, will take the swing and the most festive jazz to the esplanade Barnuevo, Santiago de la Ribera.

The price of the subscription will be 120euro, not including the concerts of George Benson that will cost 40euros, and Tajmo ': The Taj Mahal & Keb' Mo 'Band that will cost 25 euros, 20 for the subscribers.

The price of the remaining tickets will be 15 euros for six of the nights and 20 euros for another five nights.

The four concerts that leave the auditorium will be free.
