The director general of Women, Alicia Barquero, accompanied by the Councilor for Social Services, Estíbaliz Masegosa and the director of the IES "Ruiz de Alda", Juan Manuel Sánchez, today inaugurated an exhibition of artistic works on gender violence at the IES "Ruiz Alda "of San Javier, prepared by students of the center who have reflected on different aspects to take into account in the teen prevention of any type of violence against women.

The Councilor for Social Services Estíbaliz Masegosa explained that the exhibition is the result of the Punto y Aparte program promoted from the Specialized Care Center for Women Victims of Gender Violence, CAVI, in San Javier in collaboration with the Bachelor of Arts, IES " Ruiz de Alda, "to address through the art both prevention and care among adolescents and youth on issues related to gender violence.

The director general of Women, Alicia Barquero thanked the work developed by the students in the exhibition, coordinated by Professor Francisco Riquelme, which brings together allusive signage in which young people have worked the image and message and other creations as a bust covered with Reversed pushbuttons, or the striking "collection of women's clothing inspired by all kinds of mistreatment and humiliation in our society today and in all parts of the world."

Alicia Barquero highlighted the work that is being carried out by the CAVI of San Javier in the prevention among adolescents and social involvement, such as the Festival Imagina organized by the Department of Youth, which premiered the exhibition "Care-T" by a A group of adolescents, which the general direction itself has led by different municipalities of the Region, and which has now been requested by the National Police for use in the specific training of police officers, announced Alicia Barquero.

Juan Manuel Sánchez, director of the IES "Ruiz de Alda", one of the pioneer centers in the implementation of the baccalaureate of Art, highlighted the importance of art for the reflection among adolescents on social issues, as happened recently in another exhibition on Human Rights, Of students participating in an Erasmus + program.

Juana Fuentes, a CAVI psychologist, also highlighted the neurobiological power of art to drive change, and the importance and results of prevention among peers through the experience demonstrated at CAVI, which has been a pioneering center in working with adolescents on Gender violence.
