Family allocates more than 291,000 euros to serve the most vulnerable people in San Javier (01/08/2017)

The Minister of Family and Equality of Opportunities, Violante Tomás, along with the mayor of San Javier, José Miguel Luengo, visited today the Social Services of Primary Care of the City, and reported the actions of support to family and children and Reconciliation of family and work life that the Community finances in the municipality with more than 291,000 euros.

Violante Tomás said that "the subsidy offered by the Community to the Social Services of Primary Care of the municipality has increased by 12 percent, since it is expected to have an endowment of more than 230,000 euros, compared to 205,000 last year, which Supposes an increase of more than 24,000 euros ".

He also recalled that "attention to groups deserving special protection is a priority of the regional government."

The Social Services of Primary Care ensure the care, promotion and insertion of people who present social needs such as absences of vital minimums, situations of dependence or processes of social exclusion.

The counselor explained that the aid of his department are intended to finance the maintenance of professionals and "suppose a very important budgetary injection for the municipality."

On the other hand, the Community will allocate more than 50,000 euros to the City Council of San Javier to carry out actions that cover the basic needs of families, and serves to alleviate and improve the situation of social vulnerability of people, covering their basic needs.

The aid distributed by the City of San Javier is intended for families with children and covers food, hygiene or clothing needs, among others.

In addition, they facilitate access to other services such as health, education (school supplies, aids for dining), housing (rental and improvement of living conditions of housing and supplies) and employment;

As well as the accompaniment and social work with the families and to finance programs of support to the family and labor conciliation for people in processes of socio-labor insertion with children in their charge.

Impulse to female employment

Concerning actions to reconcile work and family life, the Ministry finances with more than 11,500 euros programs for the care of children aged 3 to 12 whose parents work or participate in training actions for employment.

The General Directorate for Women and Equal Opportunities finances in San Javier recreational and educational projects of schools in non-school periods, the expansion of schedules in schools and other municipal facilities, extracurricular activities, transport services and 'babysitting' or care punctual.

"This line of subsidies is part of the strategy that the Community develops to promote employability and female self-employment in the Region, and for the development of these actions cooperation between the regional administration and municipalities is indispensable. And the particularities of the labor market in each municipality, it is possible to develop a regional strategy that promotes the full incorporation of women into the world of work, "explained the minister.

The actions for the provision of reconciliation services for work, personal and family life are one of the lines of action of the Operational Program 2014-2020 of the European Social Fund, which co-finances 80 percent of its cost.
