Counselor Violante Tomás highlights the 12 percent increase in regional funding for Primary Care in the municipality during her visit to San Javier (01/08/2017)

The Minister of Family and Equality, Violante Tomás accompanied by the mayor José Miguel Luengo and the Councilor for Social Services Estíbaliz Masegosa visited San Javier today where they met with the team of the Municipal Social Services Center that this year has increased the subsidy received from the Regional government up to 12 percent with a total of 290,000 euros that have allowed the hiring of an additional social worker, according to Violante Tomás.

The counselor stressed the importance of Social Services Primary Care, because it is the first level of attention of the system in which social needs as important as attendance situations, social exclusion processes or first needs are met, "so this help In funding is an important budgetary injection that guarantees professional attention ".

Of the total funding received from the regional government, a € 50,000 item will be used to develop actions to cover the basic needs of the family, support for family and work reconciliation, and projects for family intervention services.

Also, € 11,500 is allocated to programs for the care of children aged 3 to 12 whose parents are working or participating in training activities for employment, through play and educational projects in non-school periods, extended hours or extracurricular activities.

After the visit to the Social Services Center, the counselor who was accompanied by the Director General of People with Disabilities, Ana Guijarro, together with the Mayor of San Javier and the Councilor for Social Services of San Javier visited an activity that the Fundamifp Residence celebrated With its users on the beach where they were greeted by its director Maribel Martínez.

The counselor Violante Tomás stressed the importance of this type of activities outside the Residence where the counseling has agreed 39 places that suppose an annual contribution of the regional government of 728,000euros.

Mayor José Miguel Luengo thanked "this new visit" of the counselor to San Javier, and noted the fact that he decided to know first hand the operation of Social Services giving solutions to existing problems.

Luengo highlighted the economic effort of the regional government that has moved from 205,000 euros to 230,000 in primary care in San Javier, in addition to other items for basic needs and reconciliation.
