Health professionals and social services participated today in Santiago de Ribera of a seminar to improve socio-health coordination in gender violence (17/10/2017)

San Javier today hosted the first of the series of seminars organized by the Ministry of Family and Equality of Opportunities in collaboration with the Ministry of Health with the aim of advancing the improvement of coordination on gender violence encompassing a broad number of professionals and deepening the specialization.

The mayor of San Javier José Miguel Luengo and the director general of Women and Equality of Opportunities Alicia Barquero opened this morning the Seminar that has been held in the "Araceli Rubio", in Santiago de la Ribera, which has focused on the area of ​​Primary Health Care Services with the assistance of health care professionals, social services and other resources specialized in gender violence in San Javier, Los Alcazares, Torre Pacheco, San Pedro del Pinatar, Cartagena, La Unión and Fuente Álamo.

The seminar held this morning began with the presentation of the Project on Socio-Gender Coordination in Gender Violence by the Head of the Planning and Programs Department of the Directorate General for Women and Equal Opportunities in the Region of Murcia.

Assistant Tournament Area VII, Hospital Reina Sofía and institutional representative of the National Strategy for the Eradication of Violence against Women, Marina Tourné addressed the coordination in gender violence in the area of ​​primary health care services.

The seminar ended with an example of coordination between the CAVI, the Center for Assistance to Women Victims of Gender Violence and the socio-health field, presented by the CAVI team in San Javier, and a case study worked in groups.

The rest of the seminars will be organized in a comarcalized way and focused, each of them, in a specific area of ​​sanitary or social intervention, explained the general director Alicia Barquero who emphasized the importance of all the professionals related to the violence of gender work of coordinated and protocolized way to optimize the service.

The mayor of San Javier José Miguel Luengo expressed the same sense that he indicated the satisfaction of the City of San Javier to be able to provide a space for pooling and noted as an example of good practices "the proper functioning of the Local Table Coordination against gender violence and the Municipal Council of Equality, especially the Commission on Violence ", as well as" the good work of the CAVI of San Javier in the creation of networks that favor collaborative contexts in both prevention and intervention with women victims of violence.
