The Municipal School of Family presents a wide range of activities for the present course (18/10/2017)

The Municipal School of Family is launched for the fifth consecutive year with a varied program of activities, workshops and talks with the objective of "fostering a space of participation in which families feel accompanied in the difficult task of educating," he explained. today the Councilor for Social Services Estíbaliz Masegosa presented the start of the course with the coordinator of the Municipal Center for Social Services Alicia Balsalobre and the school coordinator, Julia Meroño.

Masegosa remarked the condition of San Javier as a Child Friendly City, declared by Unicef, and the commitment acquired by the City Council with the improvement of the living conditions of Children and Youth "so our efforts will focus on contributing together to families in improving the integral education of children. "

The healthy habits, the healthy and interactive leisure of the children with the family and the positive coexistence, with the gender perspective applied transversally in all the activities, will be the centers of interest of the programming of the course that will last until June 2018.

The coordinator of the Municipal Center for Social Services Alicia Balsalobre explained that in addition to generic programming, the School sets in motion two specific groups of parents, one as a permanent training group focused on improving coexistence, communication, and resolution of conflicts, which is celebrating its third edition, and a new one dedicated exclusively to families with children diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, TDH, who will be the psychologist of the Center for Social Services of San Javier and intends to be of help to the group by also encouraging interaction among its members.

Balsalobre explained that the two groups, which already have enough families to operate, will keep the registration open until next December.

In both cases they will meet once a month.

The group of permanent formation begins on October 23 in the afternoon and the TDH group, which already has 17 families, will specify the day and time of meeting according to the availability of the group itself.

In both cases they will have a library service to facilitate family assistance.

The coordinator of the Municipal School of Family Julia Meroño reported that among the activities to be celebrated is "We Play in Family" which encourages interaction between children with all members of the family and to be held in all districts of the municipality on a monthly basis .

Preventive workshops have also been programmed to work the passage of children from 0 to 3 years to school, as well as topics related to emotional intelligence for secondary school.

With Proyecto Hombre, action will be taken on addictions, including new technologies.

In addition, the Municipal School of Family will hold other activities in collaboration with the municipal library and the Department of Environment, among others.
