Don Juan Tenorio conquered more than 1200 people in the cemetery of San Javier (30/10/2017)

"Don Juan Tenorio, Dream and reality in the cemetery of San Javier" gathered last Saturday to 1200 spectators who hung the sign full hours before the performance began.

The public supported with a prolonged applause a show that is consolidated in its letter edition as one of the most original events of the cultural autumn in the Region of Murcia.

Spectators attended the appointment with the spirit of Don Juan in the cemetery of San Javier where after a happy reception in the pine forest of entrance to the cemetery, the inner parade began in a row and in silence only interrupted by the impressive interpretations of four groups choirs: the Orfeón Fernández Caballero, the Coral Ars Antigua, of Torre Pacheco;

the Patnia coral, from San Pedro del Pinatar, and the Stella Maris Björk coral, as well as by musicians from the Professional Conservatory of Music of San Javier.

Sacred music played by the different musical formations in different points of the course helped to set the night scenery inside the cemetery illuminated with thousands of candles and altars, fruit of the collaboration of the Friends of Bethlehem Association of San Javier that also have joined this participatory event created by the Department of Culture, which mobilized from within to more than 300 people.

The theater group San Javier, directed by Juan Antonio Navas, returned to represent for the second year the theatrical work on stage outside the cemetery once the prologue to the famous text of Zorrilla, one of the most represented works of Spanish theater, which speaks of redemption and love, and to which the local theater group grants a multidisciplinary staging that prolongs a global spectacle of sensations and experiences.

The councilman of Culture David Martinez, who coordinates the show, has highlighted the success of this fourth edition of "Don Juan Tenorio Dream and reality in the cemetery of San Javier", as well as the fact that it is a participatory event which mobilizes and involves many people, even surpassing the local level.

David Martínez, who described the show as "an ode to art", at the same time as "an almost religious rite, a communion between life and death", thanked the participation of the choirs of the region and the region, as well as of all groups and neighbors of the municipality who also live from within "this magical night with which a respectful tribute to our culture is rendered".

Martinez showed the commitment of the City of San Javier with this event "unique in Spain" which was a firm commitment of the Department of Culture and whose progression in the four editions held augurs a long future.
