The library and the Municipal School of Family invite children to write as a family in a joint program to promote reading and acquisition of values (31/10/2017)

The library and the municipal school of family retake for the third year their line of collaboration with the implementation of a series of activities, to be held in different districts of the municipality combining the promotion of reading and the transmission of values ​​related to education in family.

The councilors of Social Services, Estibaliza Masegosa, Culture, David Martinez and Education, Catalina Perez presented today in the library the joint program that includes various workshops with the story as a starting point for the acquisition of values, as a tool to address key moments in the development of the child, to relate to the elderly, or enjoy the puppets.

As a novelty, in this edition, a creative writing workshop has been launched for children from 8 to 12 years, which is celebrated in three dates, one in La Manga, another in the Mirador and another in San Javier with proposals such as of playing with the past and the future through a letter that the author writes to himself to read in 2038.

All work carried out in these workshops will be published in a book that will be presented on April 28 during the celebration of the Day of the Book at a party with the Municipal School of Family explained Toni Diaz, municipal library coordinator, who attended the presentation together to the coordinator of the Municipal School of Family Julia Meroño who recalled that this year there will be a booklet of attendance to the workshops with which you can get a prize with a minimum of three stamps that certify the participation in both workshops.

Councilor for Social Services Estibaliza Masegosa highlighted the close collaboration of the Municipal School of Family with the rest of the City Council departments as the Library to offer from a general perspective a space for the participation of parents, mothers and children in line with our commitment as a Child Friendly City, declared by Unicef ​​to focus our efforts on contributing together with families in the improvement of the integral education of children ".

The notebook to seal the attendance to the workshops and the detailed information of all the workshops can be obtained in the libraries of the municipality, schools, and municipal buildings.
