San Javier will be a pioneer in introducing golf in schools.

The Murcian Association for the Promotion of Golf, (AMPROGOLF) emerged in the municipality, will launch during the second quarter of this school year the Days of Introduction to Golf in which 300 students of 6th Primary Education of schools will participate of San Javier that will attend golf lessons, free of charge, during school hours.

The Councilor for Sports Estibabal Masegosa and the Director General of Sports Alonso Gómez supported today with their presence the initiative of the association AMPROGOLF, in the presentation of the project that took place in the City of San Javier, with its president Juan García Cascales highlighted "the enthusiasm" with which this initiative has been received in most of the schools whose cost is fully assumed by the Association itself.

The Days, which are born with vocation of continuity and expansion to other municipalities of the Region of Murcia, will begin on January 1, 2018 and will continue until May 7.

The children will move to the "Diego Torné" Golf School, in the La Serena field, Los Alcázares, where they will receive classes with the objective of acquiring basic skills for golf, included in their Physical Education program.

García Cascales noted that this initiative aims to provide children with a close knowledge of the sport of golf, including its values ​​and principles, in an environment conducive to its practice due to the presence of infrastructures, great professionals and a favorable climate to which it added " sports spirit of San Javier ".

The Councilor for Sports Estíbaliz Masegosa was confident in the success of these days as it happened with the introduction by the City Council of swimming, canoeing and sailing in the sports program of schools, free of charge.

Masegosa thanked the initiative of AMPROGOLF "that will help to eliminate prejudices and encourage the practice of this sport".

The general director of Sports, Alonso Gómez, highlighted the fact that he acts in base sports also in other less common sports such as golf, which he said is the sport that brings more investment and capital to the Region.
