The cemetery road will be remodeled before its transfer to the City Council by the regional government (08/11/2017)

The Mayor of San Javier José Miguel Luengo and the Councilor of Public Services María Dolores Ruiz visited today along with the Director General of Roads, José Antonio Fernández, the regional highway RM-301, known as "cemetery road" in San Javier, in order to to review "in situ" the actions that will be the subject of this section of the regional road, linking the roundabout access to the AP7 motorway with the roundabout of Pinatar Avenue, before its assignment to the City of San Javier.

The cession of this road that was requested by the City Council contemplates a previous investment by the regional government along its 855 meters, which includes the review of the sign, signage, public services, gardening and furniture.

The City Council will draft the project of this action that will be included in the 2018 budget for its bidding and execution, confirmed the general director of Highways, José Antonio Fernández.

The previous study carried out by the City of San Javier which aims to provide a more urban character to this access to the town, includes the construction of more sidewalks, parking and a rainwater collector to eliminate gutters and prevent training of puddles, among other performances.

The mayor of San Javier, José Miguel Luengo added that the works will coincide next year, with the completion of the urbanized area next to the cemetery and the adequacy of the esplanade of the cemetery that the City will provide asphalt "with what we will complete a comprehensive improvement of this access to San Javier ".

Luengo explained that this action is part of one of the objectives in terms of roads of the municipal government for this term that consists of improving access to the municipality.

In this sense, he highlighted the works of the remodeling of the roundabout of Pozo Aledo, "that are already in tender for their execution in 2018".

Luengo recalled that it is a "historical claim to which finally responds with an investment of 1.4 million euros that will allow, among other things, access from the roundabout to the AP7 highway towards Cartagena to the neighbors of Pozo Aledo and San Javier ".

The general director of Roads, José Antonio Fernández recalled a third access project to the municipality demanded by the City of San Javier as it is the unfolding of the F-24, from the AP7 to the roundabout of the Dos Mares shopping center, "for which An agreement is already being studied to face the necessary works that improve this stretch ".
