San Javier will host on November 17th the celebration of the VII Regional Day of Local History with the visit of the Professor of Modern History and Rector of the University of Lleida, Roberto Fernández Díaz who will give a lecture with the title "Reflections of a historian: the importance of Local History in a global world ", at 7:00 pm at the Museum of San Javier.
Roberto Fernández, who chairs the Conference of Rectors of Spanish Universities, won the National Prize for the History of Spain in 2015, for his book "Catalonia and Bourbon Absolutism: History and Politics", was a member of the PSC and is a declared constitutionalist.
The Local History Day was created in 2011 by the Center for Historical Studies and Local Research Foundation of the Region of Murcia and is held every year in a Murcia town with the collaboration of the Ministry of Employment, Universities and Business, and the Foundation Seneca
In addition to the conference, the Day of Local History will be used to celebrate other educational activities and introduction to historical research in the schools of San Javier, aimed at Secondary and High School students.
