San Javier starts its patron saint festivities with a new festive venue in which 29 clubs will be installed, six more than last year (17/11/2017)

The patron saint festivities of San Javier, which open a new festive venue with greater capacity to accommodate new clubs, start this weekend with the reading of the proclamation that will be borne by Vicente Sicilia, a resident of San Javier and former director of SAT San Cayetano, tonight at 10pm from the balcony of the City Hall.

Tomorrow Saturday will be the election and coronation of queen and young ladies of honor, at 22: 30h, and children's on Sunday afternoon at 7:00 pm, in the tent installed in the new enclosure.

The mayor José Miguel Luengo and the councilman of Celebration, Pedro Lopez, accompanied by members of the Committee of Festivals presented yesterday afternoon the festive program that on Friday, November 24, hosts the appointment of Peasant, Sailor and Pirate, titles that this year have relayed in Llorema Madrid, director of production and elaboration in "Quesos Ruperto";

Antonio Luengo Zapata, general director of Mar Menor, and José María Miralles, CEO of Grupo Caliche, respectively.

The event will take place in the tent where the barracks of the 29 clubs will be inaugurated, six more than last year, which will remain open during all the festivities until the 8th of December.

Pedro Lopez indicated that the festive program presents novelties such as the parade of clubs, flag bearers and charangas through the streets of San Javier on December 2, or the university party, that the UMU through the Sports Science Faculty of San Javier, who adopted San Francisco Javier as Patron, has organized in the tent with Les Castizos Dj Show and a "garón" contest.

"El Café" del Santo, moves to the Plaza de España, with the performance of Son del Malecon, on December 3.

Another novelty, in the gastronomic field, will be the free tasting of pie de cierva, typical of San Javier, which will take place on December 8 at 12 o'clock with the performance of "In Vivo".

The tradition sends in the patron saint festivities in which there will be a parade of floats, the procession of the Saint with his firework show, the concert of the AGA Music Band together with the Stella Maris Björk choir, the show of supporters clubs , or the huertano day with the elaboration of the sausages of an "old-fashioned slaughter", in the eyes of the public, and a garden huertana, in the Plaza de España followed by a Bando Huertano that will parade on November 26 in the morning .

The musical section takes special prominence with performances such as José Manuel Soto, on December 3, the Newman, Naponia and Norek groups, on the indie night, on December 5;

the rock night in which Reincidentes will perform besides Los Parakememeo, Kavando a Pala, and Si Dejaís, on December 6;

Fran Valenzuela, with the only Tribute to Alejandro Sanz, recognized by the singer himself, and the group La Unión, on December 7.

They will also play IN Vivo, a music-vocal group, with four male voices that join pop and lyric, Son del Malecón, John "Wardi" Ward with "Let's Rock", the pop rock group Apache, and the local group Rica Malata, winner of the "Your summer in San Javier" model contest, from the Mistral Beach Festival.

To conclude, this year the 1st Gala of Flamenco Fiestas de San Javier was created on December 9th.

The mayor José Miguel Luengo and the councilman of Celebration, Pedro Lopez agreed to thank the supporters clubs, the commission of parties, technicians and municipal workers their work to launch a program "in order to reach all audiences to be a participatory festivities ".

Before the presentation, the mayor together with the councilman of Celebrations and representatives of the supporters clubs visited the new festive venue that goes from 3,000 to 10,000 square meters, and where this year will be installed 29 clubs with their respective barracks, 18 inside the tent municipal, and the rest with individual tents, 100 meters, in the large esplanade created within the enclosure that has been fenced and illuminated.

Each individual tent has its corresponding urban services such as water, electricity and sanitation.

The mayor recalled that this year six new clubs have joined, thanks to the new space may have their own barrack.

The new site that brings the tent, for the first time Almansa Park that will be remodeled next year, is only one kilometer from the center of the town, recalled the councilman of Fiestas announced that the eve of parties and weekends there will be a bus service between the premises and the center to take and collect the public.
