Aidemar and the club Chotacabras pose a new challenge "Without limits" for 2018 (15/12/2017)

The sports club Aidemar and the club Chotacabras once again pose a new challenge "Without Limits" after the success of last year in which 50 people, nine of them with intellectual disabilities, ended up raising the Mulhacén.

On this occasion there will be no mountains but 180 kilometers of the Murcia coast to cover in seven stages.

The people responsible for the project, Pedro Sánchez from the sports club Aidemar and Nico Zapata from the Chotacabras club, accompanied by the Councilor for Sports, Estibaliz Masegosa, presented yesterday at the City Hall of San Javier the event "Sin Límites 2018", an inclusive sport project in the that 45 people, with or without intellectual disabilities, will try to reach the same goal.

Nico Zapata explained that participants must complete 180 kilometers of the GR-92, a path that runs along the Mediterranean coast from Italy to Cádiz, in the section that crosses the Region of Murcia.

The first appointment will be on January 21 with a 15km Preview in La Manga to continue with a Sunday each month in which an average of 30 kilometers will be covered, starting at the Andalusian border until finishing at El Mojón, on the border with the Valencian Community on September 16.

Those interested in registering and following the established program can do so from today December 15 until January 15 or until the 45 available places are completed, on the Aidemar website www.aidemar.es or by linking from their social networks.

Those interested should have some physical form to be able to face 30-kilometer walks, which do not present special difficulties.

The registration will be free for people with intellectual disabilities while the rest will have to pay 21 euros corresponding to the insurance of the event for its seven stages.

Pedro Sanchez, from the Aidemar sports club, thanked the Chotacabras club for its commitment to inclusive sports in the organization of this activity, which also includes the Murcian Sports Federation for the intellectually disabled, the Murcia Athletics Federation, the Sports Department of the City Council of San Javier, Aidemar and Decathlon San Javier that deals with the necessary equipment for people with disabilities who participate.

Councilor Estíbaliz Sports Masegosa highlighted the success achieved in the first edition of this project that combines physical activity and the real integration of people with intellectual disabilities and the spirit of improvement.

Masegosa encouraged participation "so that this year more people with disabilities will be able to reach the last stage".
