Santiago de la Ribera hosts the Tribute to the Victims of Terrorism organized by the National Association of Civil Guards "Marqués de las Amarillas" (25/01/2018)

Santiago de la Ribera hosts on Saturday January 27 acts of Tribute to Victims of the State Security and Security Forces and Private Security 2018 organized annually by the National Association of Civil Guards "Marqués de las Amarillas", in memory to the deceased both in an act of service or as victims of terrorism.

The Councilor for Security Teresa Foncuberta, the president of the Association, Blanca Echazarreta and his delegate in the Region of Murcia, Antonio Franco presented this morning at City Hall the act, open to the entire population, which will begin at 11 am with a Mass for the victims in the church of Santiago Apóstol.

At the end of the service the assistants, accompanied by the legionary veterans of the Region, will parade towards the civic center "Prince of Asturias", where a commemorative plaque will be discovered before entering the assembly hall where the National Association of Civil Guards "Marqués de las Amarillas "will hand over their appointments to a hundred people, both military and civilians from the local, regional and national levels, in an act that will have the participation of the San Javier Symphonic Band.

Blanca Echazarreta announced that the City Council of San Javier will be named an Honorary Member of the Association for the hospitality provided.

He also reported that a posthumous tribute will be made to National Police Lieutenant José Miñano who died recently after suffering for years the serious consequences of the attack he suffered in Vitoria in 1982. Among the mentions that will be delivered this year are the Team Roca, of the Civil Guard of Cartagena, and the Acrobatic Patrols Águila y Papea of ​​the Air Force.

The Councilor for Security of San Javier, Teresa Foncuberta explained that the City Council welcomed "without hesitation" the proposal of the Association to celebrate acts in tribute to the victims of terrorism in the municipality "because we believe it is fair to help recognize and remember to the people who lost their lives either as victims or as an act of service to their country. "

Foncuberta recalled that all events are open to the public and invited all residents who want to join this tribute to attend.

The National Association of Civil Guards "Marqués de las Amarillas", is a civic-military association created in 2003 that has among its objectives to remember the victims of terrorism, ensure the good name of the Civil Guard and contribute to unity of Spain, explained its president Blanca Echazarreta, who explained that the mass with which the acts begin is carried out "as a redress for those times in the Basque Country in which the victims were not even given a funeral and had to pick them up the Sacristy ".

The acts of Tribute to the Victims of the State Security Forces and Bodies, which previously took place in other municipalities of the Region of Murcia, will be attended by the president of the Regional Assembly, Rosa Peñalver, as well as a broad representation of the civil and military authorities of the entire Region of Murcia.
