The Local Police collaborates with the Department of Social Services in the development of the Community Participation Program in the socio-educational field, through a series of workshops aimed at raising awareness among young people about the dangers involved in the inappropriate use of new technologies.
The workshops, taught by the Local Police of San Javier, José Manuel Navarro Carrillo, under the title "Risk factors in the use of information and communication technologies" are aimed at 6th grade students, families and teachers of the educational centers of the municipality.
The police agent shows young people what the risks are that ICTs involve, the security measures they can adopt, with a special emphasis on cyberbulling, and bullying.
The final objective of the workshop, which is taught in two sessions with students, in addition to working with teachers and families, is to raise awareness among young people and adolescents of the problems of inappropriate use of new technologies, and to be aware of their dangers, especially cyberbullying, advising them on the security measures they should adopt.
These workshops are part of the Community Participation Program in the socio-educational area promoted by the Department of Social Services through various projects for children and adolescents.
