Theater and Music of Passion in San Javier (07/03/2018)

Culture Councilman David Martinez presented today in the temple of San Francisco Javier a cultural program for Holy Week that includes a concert of Curro Piñana with the Symphonic Band of San Javier, the concerts of the Patnia choir, and the "Stabat Mater" Pergolesi with a soprano and mezzosoprano duo, and the theatrical performance of "The Passion of Jesus."

David Martínez, who was accompanied by several of the protagonists of the program, said that "while other parts of the region will be filled with Brotherhoods and Brotherhoods San Javier deploys a cultural program with music and theater as protagonists."

The first meeting will take place on Saturday, March 17, at 9:00 p.m.

in the church of San Javier, with the theater group San Javier, which will present a renewed "Passion of Jesus", in the version of Juan Carlos Navas with several novelties such as the action movement for the temple, a great support of music and lights and other details without revealing, that contribute to the emotion that the work gives off, advanced the actress Ana María Díaz.

On Friday, March 23, at 8:30 p.m., the Coral Patnia will be filled with sacred music by the "Sanctuary of San Javier" with a "concert of cultured music", according to Francisco Cano, one of its members. It includes Rachmaninov's Ave Maria and a poem by Antonio Machado with which they will close a repertoire in several languages.

On March 25 the cantaor Curro Piñana will perform with the San Javier Symphonic Band in a music concert that brings together the saeta and the processional marches.

Piñana highlighted the richness and variety of a genre that emerged in the eighteenth century and has evolved to this day with an exclusively religious use and the symbiosis that occurs with the marches with which it is inserted.

The director of the young San Javier Symphony Orchestra, Luis Ramón Rodríguez, announced that there will be marches belonging to "our musical heritage of great composers of marches such as Emilio Cebrián or Abel Moreno", among others.

Finally, on March 28 the soprano Charo Alcaraz, singing teacher at the Conservatory of San Javier, and her student Tatiana Glazcova, Mezzosoprano, accompanied on piano by the Conservatory professor, Octavio Robaina, will perform the "Stabat Mater" of GB Pergolesi, in a concert, with solos and duos, in the theater of the "Prince of Asturias" center, in Santiago de la Ribera.

The concert, which is made for the benefit of Aidemar, will be the only one in which a donation of five euros will be requested.

The rest of activities will be free.

David Martinez pointed out that "while in other parts of the region the drums will sound and be filled with Brotherhoods and Brotherhoods, San Javier displays a cultural program with music and theater as protagonists to experience Holy Week", and thanked the participation of Curro Piñana and the different local cultural entities that intervene "enriching the cultural life of the municipality".
