The delegate of the Government and the Mayor of San Javier inaugurate the new entrances to the Hospital del Mar Menor (09/07/2010)

The municipalities in the region have created over 6,400 jobs in urban improvement projects in the municipalities through the Fund, 2009

The government delegate in the Murcia Region, Rafael González Tovar, and the Mayor of San Javier, Pepa García, inaugurated this morning the new access to the future hospital del Mar Menor.

The works have been financed entirely by the Government of Spain through the Local Investment Fund in 2009 and involves an investment of EUR 1767090 and created 34 new jobs.

The Government delegate explained that the works have included a new asphalt paving, the installation of water and sanitation connections, installation of new street lighting and sidewalks to provide access from the road to San Javier-Sucina New Regional Hospital del Mar Menor.

González Tovar stressed the importance of the work.

"Not only has created jobs during the execution of works," noted the delegate but we have also solved the problem of future access to the Hospital del Mar Menor which will substantially improve the quality of care for all users and workers. "

Moreover, the government delegate explained that the City of San Javier has received from the State Fund of 2009 a total of EUR 5,162,217 that has funded 17 projects to work.

These projects have created 336 new jobs in the 14 companies awarded the contract.

At present, the City has certified to the Ministry of Planning Policy 16 of these projects have received full funding and a project is awaiting the final steps.

He also explained that the municipality of San Javier has received for 2010 a new economic boost from the Government of Spain of EUR 3,313,815 that the municipality used to finance investment projects in 9 plays.

In total, others aim to create 272 new jobs.

About 120 million euros for 272 urban improvement projects in the municipalities of the Region

González Tovar took stock of the State Fund projects 2009 that the municipalities in the region are aimed at improving urban links the various municipalities.

In total, he explained, have executed 272 projects in 36 municipalities urban improvements that have been the construction of new streets and squares, the arrangement of streets and local traffic improvements.

These projects have involved an investment of 119,262,680 euros state and created 6,414 new jobs, of which 2,006 have been newly created and 4408 of persons within enterprises.

In addition, the delegate stressed that these works have helped maintain the activity of 171 companies, mostly in the Region of Murcia.

The delegate explained that such actions have resolved many urban problems of the municipalities of our region.

Among the projects highlighted the urban renewal of the historic center of Cartagena on Calle Real, Plaza Seamanship Training Center and Avenida Juan Fernández (8.8 million euros in three works), the urban development in the northern part of the Murcia City the links with the University and shopping malls (10.5 million euros in three projects), the urban improvement or rehabilitation of the main arteries of Lorca in the streets of Lope Gisbert, Santo Domingo and Avenue of the Armed forces (2.2 million euros in two works), or improved access to the Castillo de Jumilla (1.2 million euros).

It also added that the State Fund, 2009 focused on investments that alleviate the difficult situation that happened in the construction sector.
