Santiago de la Ribera celebrates its maritime procession on Sunday (16/07/2010)

The mayor of San Javier, Pepa García return the plate to the Angler of the Year Jose Navarro, on Sunday in Santiago de la Ribera in a ceremony to be held in the Fish Mariche, beachside Barnuevo, the end of the maritime procession honor of the Virgin del Carmen departs at 09:30 h.

As every year, the festival of Santiago de la Ribera in honor of Santiago Apostle devote special attention to the feast of the Virgen del Carmen is now live more intensely in the neighborhood of the same name, with a Mass orchard, procession and festival on their streets.

The maritime procession moves as usual the following Sunday so as not to coincide with that of San Pedro del Pinatar.

The image of the Virgin will come in procession after the 09:00 am Mass in the church of Santiago de la Ribera to the pier from the beach Barnuevo where the procession will pass through the maritime coast to Lo Pagán to return to the point game.

After the procession is celebrated tribute to the Angler of the Year, the Festival Committee has awarded this year to Jose Navarro, a native of Santiago de la Ribera and fisherman for a long time in the Mar Menor.

MUSICAL CELEBRATION OF THE 80

Las fiestas de Santiago de la Ribera continue with its program of activities, facing the weekend left a 80 Pop Festival to be held on the esplanade Barnuevo on Saturday July 17th at 22:30 with the show of the Octopus, and the subsequent action of the group with a repertoire Coliseum eighties.
