George Benson is raised enormous expectations in his fourth visit to the Festival de Jazz de San Javier (23/07/2010)

The Festival de Jazz de San Javier received for the fourth time in its history with George Benson, icon of modern music that will receive the Award of the XIII edition of the Festival in recognition of his career.

The mayor of San Javier, Pepa Garcia and festival director, Alberto Nieto you will be given the award after his concert Sunday July 25 that recorded one of the most categorical full season.

The expected return of the brilliant guitarist and singer George Benson Jazz San Javier coincides with the recent publication of his latest album, "Songs and Stories" number 63 of his long career, which involves a return to his jazz-soul sound of 70's, the decade that received his greatest hits like "This Masquerade", or the disk "Brezzin '", which became the best selling jazz album in history.

In recording his new album, George Benson had a deluxe band which contains Lee Ritenour, and bassist Marcus Miller also co-produced the album, which contains 9 versions of classics, and 3 original songs by Rod Temperton, who and Benson wrote for one of his greatest hits "moans Me The Nihgt" in 1980.

Among the selected versions are classics like "Do not Let Me Be Lonely Tonight" by James Taylor, "Rainy Night in Georgia" by Tony Joe White, "Someday we'll be free" by Donnie Hathaway, and "Sailing" by Christopher Cross.

With great musical talent, George Benson takes every issue to take to the territory of smooth jazz, R & B, or to take its most funky.
