The opposition forced the council to return a grant of 220,000 euros (08/09/2010)

The opposition groups have meant that the municipality of San Javier is forced to return to the Autonomous Community of Murcia and approved a grant of 220,000 euros, for his refusal to approve the municipal contribution to be completed by the grant to undertake sanitation works in villages of La Grajuela.

Both the popular and the group decided to separate, with their votes, leaving on the table once more, this case in a last attempt by the government team to exhaust the full terms and was ahead a week, but finally it was no use to the position of the opposition groups.

The consequences of this situation provoked by the popular and independent groups have their own neighbors who may, for now, works that have repeatedly asked the City Council, said the Mayor of San Javier, Pepa García.

The Mayor said: "The PP has adopted the formula leave on the table as a means of trying to delay, stall and obstruct the issues in any way they wish to adopt, but also voted against because they could not explain why," and cited some examples such as "access to the Hospital del Mar Menor, which delayed 3 months, payment to suppliers, 4 months, or the garbage collection contract that takes 11 months on the table."

Pepa García referred to the attitude of the opposition as "a poor strategy and party whose objectives can not understand anyone. Fortunately the residents of San Javier no longer believe the words are hollow and appear to be sick of electioneering tricks."
