Five hundred sheep crossing the avenue Aviation Spanish (26/10/2010)

Local police escort this morning a flock of 500 sheep that has crossed in less than a minute, the Spanish Aviation avenue guarded by his pastor and several experts on keeping dogs joined the flock that practices a kind of short-distance migration.

From its fixed location on the border of the municipalities of Murcia and San Javier Torre Pacheco, won five hundred heads of cattle trails and takes rural roads, at least once a year, walking 15 or 20 miles off the coast of San Javier, coinciding with the arrival of summer in search of new pastures.

With water tanks, and temporary fencing, if needed, the sheep spend four or five months on farms and summer grazing areas, where land left ready for a new planting while foraging naturally.

Within twenty days undertaken way back when and planted land, force them to return to more inland in search of other grasses.

This morning we have returned the same way they made a few days ago when the herd was moved from a nearby farm to remember in San Javier, to the San Blas.

The sheep, a step surprisingly light, directed in a coordinated manner by the young pastor of 28 years, and their dogs, just have hampered traffic on your journey through the streets I remember, Cabo Roche, against IES Mar Menor, the roundabout Four Peaks Avenue Mediterranean and Avenue of the pilgrimage.
