The translator and literary critic, Carlos Sousa de Almeida staged a poetry evening in the library dedicated to the Portuguese poet Ruy Belo was read his poems, "Problem of the room," published in Spain last year by Sequitur.
The night spent in Portuguese and Spanish, served to raise awareness of both the work and life of one of the more robust poetic voices of Portugal in the 60 and 70, and to talk about poetry in general and how relates to and expands on the environment.
Ruy Belo (1933-1978), spent the latter part of his life in Madrid where he served as a reader of Portuguese from 1971 to 1977, a year before his death.
Law Degree, and after a stage in Rome ended in the Free University of Lisbon with a fellowship prior to his time in Spain.
His work, virtually unknown in our country adheres to eleven books of poetry published between 1961 and 1978.
The second "O da habitação problem" (1962), is the only translated into Spanish.
