The E Plan for rehabilitation of the civic center of Santiago de La Ribera (22/03/2011)

The City Council, with funds from Plan E of the Government of Spain, has 26 projects that have given jobs to 657 people in the municipality

The government delegate in the Region of Murcia, Rafael González Tovar, and the Mayor of San Javier, have visited the works of rehabilitation of the Civic Center of Santiago de la Ribera, after the amendments, will promote local coexistence of citizens, well as to accommodate various associations and groups in the area.

The Municipality of San Javier, given the deteriorating conditions in which the Civic Center was in Santiago de la Ribera, decided to respond to repeated requests from neighbors who claimed the rehabilitation center.

The renovation was made possible thanks to funds from the Plan E Government of Spain, whose contribution amounts to 430,000 euros, which in turn made possible the hiring of 15 jobs.

The Government delegate highlighted the interest of the Government of Spain to facilitate local coexistence, and "this is done - he said - through a physical place in which citizens and their associations to develop their social and cultural activities."

He added that "words are gone with the wind, but the infrastructure is here so they can enjoy the neighbors, not in vain, the mayor earlier this month and I opened another in Pozo Aledo civic."

In addition, Rafael Tovar y Josefa González García, accompanied by the Director General of Sports, Antonio Peñalver, visited the sports center of San Javier, where the City, thanks to Plan E, has conducted the closing of the sports, for an amount in excess of 363,000 euros, and whose work has enabled the creation of 83 direct jobs.

Furthermore, we also have seen other works of the sports that have been funded by the City and the Autonomous Community, as the floor of the tracks, toilets, changing rooms, multi-sport court, etc..

A couple of weeks the deputy and the mayor visited the construction of the sports hall of El Mirador, financed entirely from the Plan E, and the municipality is undertaking the construction of a sports hall on the streets and Trillo Almazara , demonstrating the support of the Government of Spain to the municipalities regarding the sport.

Moreover, today has become to visit the municipal football stadium "Pitín", recently restored with artificial turf, from the funds of the Plan E by an amount exceeding half a million euros.

San Javier has received from Plan E of the Government of Spain a total of 8.5 million euros, the largest investment received by a government in its history.

With these funds the City has developed 26 projects that in turn have given jobs to 657 people in the township.

The Government delegate stressed that the objectives of Plan E are being met and exceeded in San Javier, since it has been energizing the local economy, have made significant infrastructure that all residents can enjoy and has created employment, certainly a very important aspect.

Significant work that has driven the Plan E in San Javier

Building rehabilitation and fitness for cultural activities (1 million euros)

Adequacy of plots and connections to external networks of roads and services to the new Hospital del Mar Menor (1, 7 million euros).

Reform roundabout and replacement of street lighting in the Avenida de El Mirador and The Pozuelos in Santiago de La Ribera.

(706,000 euros).

Lighting in La Ribera, Avenida Virgen de Loreto (600,000 euros)

Rotunda Building on Union Avenue and Calle Avenida Ramon y Cajal (108,000 euros)

Civic Center Construction Pozo Aledo (242,000 euros)
