Joe Louis Walker returns with the best blues Jazz San Javier (14/07/2011)

The Festival de Jazz de San Javier receives one of the great blues musicians, Joe Louis Walker, an encyclopedia of the genre that has brought her trademark guitar playing and a voice that seems born to sing the blues, as evidenced in his last album "Between a rock and the Blues."

An album that returns to its roots in moving between blues and rock, in the vibrant San Francisco music scene of the 70.

The guitarist, singer and songwriter, Joe Louis Walker (San Francisco, 1949), won several Grammy and WC Handy, takes back a long and fruitful career since the age of 8 he took his first guitar.

In its early years and worked with the elite as John Lee Hooker, Buddy Miles, John Mayall, Charlie Musselwhite, Muddy Waters and Jimi Hendrix, among many others.

After a period away from the blues, which is closer to gospel, blues takes its roots in the 80's and recorded his first album as a leader "Cold is the night" (Hightone, 1986), the first of 20 albums, among which includes a classic "Great Guitars" (1997), where Joe Louis Walker brings together friends and guitar virtuosos who included Bonnie Raitt, Buddy Guy, Taj Mahal, Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown, and Iker Turner, among many others.

In San Javier Jazz, Joe Louis Walker will perform accompanied by Murali Coryell (guitar and vocals), Amar Sundy (guitar and vocals), Vincent Leggiero (bass and vocals) and Dorian Randolph (drums and vocals).

The first part of the night in store for the pleasant experience that is listen and enjoy a concert of René Marie, one of the new divas of jazz, in the wake of his admired Betty Carter, Ella Fitzgerald, Dinah Washington and, among others.

Rene Marie has the power to captivate the audience not only for their technique but for the passion that characterizes the overwhelming stage presence.

Composer and singer, this woman of great strength, born in Virginia, began his career at age 42, coinciding with his divorce, when he was unable to suppress his need to express themselves through music.

The public and the critics agreed with him in the form of immediate recognition and awards.

From their debut album "Renaissance" (1999), René Marie has published six other works, the latter of which "The Voice of My Beautiful Country" (2011), is dedicated to his country-themed American Songbook and jazz tinged soul.

The eclecticism that has characterized the music of Rene Marie position is reflected in his latest work at the crossroads such classics as "America The Beautiful ', or' Tis of Thee" with others like "Just My Imagination" popularized by The Temptations or "Angelitos Negros" sung in Spanish.

René Marie, one of the most beautiful and respected voices in jazz today, will perform at the Festival de Jazz de San Javier accompanied by piano, bass and drums in a jazz combo perfect to indulge in a session of evocative interpretations.
