San Javier Jazz fired its fourteenth edition with the great British singer Chris Farlowe and the original proposal of the Parisian Pink Turtle (29/07/2011)

The Festival de Jazz de San Javier was dismissed on Saturday July 30 with Pink Turtle, a French group that is characterized by its originality to the interpretation of the jazz festival with the joy of swing reinterpreting pop and rock hits of the past thirty years, and Chris Farlowe, one of the singers of rock, blues and R & B, the most vocal power in the UK.

Chris Farlowe, who act with Norman Beaker Band, his regular giants like Chuck Berry, BB King, Van Morrison or started in the 50's when the Skiffle (folk music influenced by jazz and blues), was popular in the UK from the United States.

In the 60's and enjoyed great popularity in front of the group Thunderbirds in the field of R & B, soul and pop.

Mick Jagger crossed his path helping to boost the career of Chris Farlowe group whose first commercial success would come with the adaptation of several songs written by Jagger and Keith Richards himself, as "Think" or "Out of Time," among others .

In the late 60's, Chris Farlowe left the group and join other units of time as legendary Colosseum and Atomic Rooster.

Chris Farlowe remains at 70 years, with 50 musical career in top form as shown in each of the numerous concerts of his tour in the UK and Europe, who come a legion of fans who do not want to miss this living legend of contemporary music concerts still providing strength and explosive-laden feeling.

Norman Beaker, guitarist and singer, captaining the band to accompany Chris Farlowe concert in San Javier, complete with David John Baldwin on keyboards, Nishikawa June Kin on sax and flute, Jon David Price on bass, and Harold Stephen Gibson on drums.

The last night of the Festival will begin with the festive touch of Pink Turtle, legendary group, composed of 7 experienced Parisian musicians and singers who retired in 1969 after being bestseller in France, and reunited in 2008 to publish an album "Pop in Swing "which has become a refreshing surprise in the world of jazz.

The criticism has compared at the same time, "Les Luthiers" for the lighthearted and humorous musical attitude, and the Glenn Miller Orchestra for its grandiose sound.

Pink Turtle offers uninhibited and unapologetic music that dares, under the premise of virtuosity and elegant Parisian label, to reinterpret some of the best compositions of recent years in key swing.

In "Pop in Swing" includes songs like "Hotel California" Eagles, "Walk on the Wild Side" by Lou Reed, "Another Brick in the Wall" by Pink Floyd, and even the "Highway to Hell" by AC / DC .

The abandonment of jazz standards seems definitive in this group whose recent album "" Back again ", (2010) affects the same formula with revisions of songs like" Roxanne "by Sting," Satisfaction "of Jagger and Richards, or "Billie Jean" by Michael Jackson, along with other Stevie Wonder, Brian May, Paul Simon, and even ABBA, which include "Money, money, money."

The training is composed by Christophe Davot, singer and guitar Jean-Marc Montaut, piano, Michel Bonnet, trumpet and singer, Laurent Vanhee, bass; Stephane Roger, drums, washboard and singer, Pierre-Louis Cas, sax, clarinet, flute and singer, and Patrick Bacqueville, trombone, flute and singer.
