Theatre Group opens its San Javier version of "General Assembly" Lauro Olmo charged social criticism (12/08/2011)

Theatre Group San Javier becomes one more year to your appointment with the Festival of Theatre and Dance in San Javier, whose presence in each edition of the festival recalls the origin-driven Oscar local amateur group who ran the late 69 Paco Rubio , 42 years ago.

This time the local group releases a classic contemporary Spanish theater the "General Assembly" Lauro Olmo with adaptation and direction of Leonor Benitez.

"A challenge," said Benitez to the local group "which departs from the comedies that the group has performed at the festival so far."

Laura Olmo's work, which earned him awards and Cortina Manuel Espinosa of the Royal Academy of Spain and the best work released in the period 1977-1981, is based on a fable by La Fontaine, starring animals acting like people.

The protagonists are the animals of the forest terrified by an epidemic convene a meeting to find out who of them should sacrifice his life to the gods, to save others, depending on their level of faults and sins confessed.

The book contains a clear critique of the powerful class to the common people, who in the adaptation of San Javier Theatre Group has stepped up to "denounce the injustices of justice" that protects the guilty, powerful and no mercy to the weak but is innocent, says Leonor.

Here the characters leave the forest and see the city.

The sets, costumes and makeup, and the incorporation of an original dance or group of ants loaded with symbolism, this show has evolved over the trials of new findings that have been built with an end result "different and original" .

The show features live musical effects, begins with a dance featuring students from the dance school of municipal sports scenery Ruth Olmos, and the participation of a group of 10 girls representing termites.

The cast is made up of Ana Maria Garzon, José Antonio Navas in the roles of Gata and Donkey, Francisco Javier López Buendía and Worship in the Wolf and Fox, who plays Valentin Sanchez-Loro preacher, Jose Pardo Verdúguez, Jose Sanchez and Leonid and Antonio García, Almudena Jimenez, Jose Manuel Sanchez and Jose Pujante that give life to Tigre, Spider, Crocodile and Bear.
