The House approved the request of regional attractions for the carnival of Santiago de la Ribera (09/02/2012)

The full February month of carnival, has been chosen to approve the request to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the declaration of Regional Tourist Interest for Carnivals of Santiago de la Ribera.

During his 24-year celebration, carnival of Santiago de la Ribera have achieved a deeply rooted among the population.

In its latest edition the carnival parade brought together 50 troupes and more than 1,700 participants.

Martinez noted the importance of destination as a tourism product of an event of its kind and was esperanzando that "soon you can add to our festivals, Jazz and Theatre, and the Pilgrimage of San Blas as our fourth regional tourist event"

Freezing salaries to the municipal corporation
