The full February month of carnival, has been chosen to approve the request to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the declaration of Regional Tourist Interest for Carnivals of Santiago de la Ribera.

Martinez was responsible for proposing the full approval which was endorsed by all municipal groups.
The mayor reminded the progression experienced by these parties going back to the 30s of last century, although it was in 1988, coinciding with the centenary of Santiago de la Ribera, they began to be celebrated as we know them today.
During his 24-year celebration, carnival of Santiago de la Ribera have achieved a deeply rooted among the population.
In its latest edition the carnival parade brought together 50 troupes and more than 1,700 participants.

Martinez noted the importance of destination as a tourism product of an event of its kind and was esperanzando that "soon you can add to our festivals, Jazz and Theatre, and the Pilgrimage of San Blas as our fourth regional tourist event"

Freezing salaries to the municipal corporation
The plenary held today "froze" the compensation and remuneration of all members of the municipal corporation to approve the suspension of the annual review provided for the payment of such remuneration as the CPI data.

Final adoption of budget and municipal employment plan

One more step for the disposal of the City Air
Full initially approved an amendment to the subsidiary regulations on structural aviation military colony "Julio Ruiz de Alda", known as Air City, and to regularize the current situation maintaining urban formal and typological structure.
Mayor Juan Martinez explained that this is a step in the development agreement between the City of San Javier and INVIFAS facing the sale of homes, and the assumption of this development in the municipal urban fabric.
All groups supported the amendment, subject to provisional approval, which have been collected suggestions from individuals and organizations, such as changing the alignment of roads to encourage more parking in the affected area, among others.
