The deputy mayor of San Javier, José Manuel Alart and the councilman of Social Services, Francisca Naranjo attended this morning along with the managing director of IMAS, Fernando Mateo, a ceremony at the Senior Center of San Javier in which has closed a course for carers, and presented one on self to be held in collaboration with Civil Protection in San Javier.
Jose Manuel Alart, councilor responsible for Civil Protection, expressed his satisfaction at being able to collaborate with the IMAS in this course "that will serve to convey many useful tips to our elders."
Alart explained that the course, called "Protecting yourself is to protect", consist of 5 sessions from May 10 to June 7 with topics such as first aid kit home, what to do in case of disaster and prevention tips for the summer.
It also includes knowledge and familiarity with the Emergency and 112 local, or Safety Plan Staff of the Civil Guard, who also works at the course for the elderly and their caregivers.
The Managing Director of IMAS, Fernando Mateo stressed the importance of such courses, It closed as that aimed at people who care for relatives at home, "first because something is learned about technical issues, and second because they provide psychological support to caregivers. "
"People who are caring for others need to feel the breath of the government," said Fernando Matero who expressed his appreciation and thanks to the work being done.
At the close attended several of the professionals who participated in the course on cuiadadores as the neuropsychologist, Javier Cucarella Oltra, who presented their findings, and of course on self to be held shortly.
