San Javier libraries assume, indefinitely, the regional program for food delivery "Quitapesares" (19/12/2012)

The public library of San Javier has joined the solidarity program Murcia Regional Library "Quitapesares" which involves removing penalties for late return of book loans in exchange for nonperishable food to be delivered to Caritas.

The head of Caritas food warehouse in San Javier, Santiago Martinez welcomed the initiative that joins others already underway and that have enabled the store is able to respond at this time to 154 families currently benefit of food delivery in San Javier.

Santiago Martinez said that in total, more than 700 people, of which about 300 are children, those receiving food are donated to Caritas, and that the total beneficiary families 55 percent are Spanish, with 20 per San Javier percent natural.

Martinez thanked especially the Consum supermarket periodic donations of San Javier which last year contributed 600,000 kilos of food, or fresh from Agromediterránea about 2,000 liters of milk and school campaigns like "Sacred Heart", San Javier that bring hundreds of kilos, and companies that especially at this time made significant donations.
