Santiago de la Ribera became again last Saturday in a study of outdoor painting on the occasion of the Second National Painting Competition where participants worked all day in the eyes of the public in the vicinity of the beaches and boardwalk.
In a landscape flooded by the blue sea, most painters do not hesitate to reflect the marine environment from different perspectives, in their creations.
The Spaniard Carlos Montero won first prize "Villa de San Javier", worth 1,300 euros, with a typical landscape and Boat gateway that introduces human presence and bold use of color.
The Madrid, Alfonso Gonzalez and Pablo Rubén López, received second and third prize, endowed with 850 and 600 euros respectively.
The fourth prize "125th Anniversary of Santiago de la Ribera" was for the Murcia Miguel Mellado.
Children Ivan Penalver and Victor Galindo, both of Santiago de la Ribera won first and second prize in junior category, equipped with paint material.
The mayor of San Javier, Juan Martínez presided over the awards ceremony which took place at 20:00 h.
in the museum of San Javier, accompanied by the Councillor for Culture, Inmaculada García who was part of the jury with Juan Garcia Sandoval, director of the Museum of Fine Arts in Murcia, Remedios Ruiz, Bachelor of Fine Arts and professor of painting municipal workshop , and Aurora Lopez, municipal councilor of San Javier.
