The residents of San Javier premiere Family Album (27/05/2013)

The mayor of San Javier, Juan Martinez, the Councillor for Culture, Inmaculada García, and Luis Lluch, municipal archivist presented last Friday at the Municipal Museum, the book "San Javier Family Album" and the exhibition of the same name, which together dozens of photographs of personal status which were donated by residents of the municipality in order to make an album that reflected the intra common Township, life as it was through the snapshots taken by local families until 1980.

Among the photographs donated, the oldest is 1867 and shows Antonio Albaladejo Martinez, a resident of The Grajuela, military dress.

The historical value, aesthetic quality, or the representation of the image were some of the selection criteria among which predominated the idea of ​​including as many donors as possible, said the project coordinator, Luis Lluc.

Luis Lluch added that the collection of images began with a mobile team which traveled to 21 sites, including schools, colleges, and others to facilitate the donation and collection process was conducted through modern digitization of photographs that were returned at the time, and scanned images on a flash drive gift.
