The mayor of San Javier, Juan Martinez and Colonel Director General Air Academy, Emilio Gracia presented this morning in the city of San Javier, the civil Flag Jura to be held on Saturday, June 1 at the Esplanade Barnuevo, next to the beach of the same name, to mark the 125th Anniversary of Santiago de la Ribera.
As part of celebrations for the anniversary of the founding of Santiago de la Ribera, the mayor also presented an official event in which the city pays homage, on Thursday May 30th at 21:30 h.
at the Civic Center "Prince of Asturias", to the AGA, "in recognition once again, the importance it had and still has to Santiago de la Ribera", and D.
Antonio Barnuevo, "as a representative of the family who is at the origin of the founding of Santiago de la Ribera".
The civil Jura is part of the celebrations in which the AGA works with the City, and is performed with the goal that "the residents of Santiago de la Ribera and around the town to feel the love of the flag can be displayed faithfulness in an event like this, "said the Mayor.
Colonel AGA director also recalled the civil Jura is part of the National Week of the Armed Forces.
Emilio Gracia said "that the flag is all Spanish, although the army custody" and recalled that in the previous civil swears held in San Javier in 2009 were about 400 people that wanted to swear or renew their oath to the flag.
Juan Martinez said that AGA is an institution rooted in the history and Santiago de la Ribera whose history can not be understood without the Academy was already naval air before its creation in 1945.
The AGA, which already was given the Gold Medal of the municipality of San Javier, received military studies from King Juan Carlos, during 58-59 and 87-88 during Prince.
Currently the only Academy which trains officers of the Air Force.
