Santiago de la Ribera was a special memory for the AGA and family Barnuevo on its 125th Anniversary (31/05/2013)

The program of the 125th Anniversary of Santiago de la Ribera held last night one of his quotes highlighted with a tribute and delivery of awards to the General Air Academy because of its importance in the history of the town, and the family Barnuevo, driving the population late nineteenth century, during a gala held at the auditorium of the social club "Prince of Asturias" in Santiago de la Ribera.

Juan Martinez recalled the origins of the military institution in the town, first as a naval air station and after the Civil War as part of the new Air Force, welcoming its first class in 1945 with Antonio Brea Munaiz first director Colonel.

Juan Martinez recalled how the owners encouraged the development of the area in perpetuity yielding plots by paying annual dues.

He highlighted the relationship that Don Antonio Barnuevo, like many family descendants still retain with Santiago de la Ribera 125 years later.

For his part, Antonio Barnuevo got excited the personal thanks and commemorative distinction delivery by the Mayor of San Javier, by involving recognition neighbors.

"Many of you, and the various municipalities have contributed to the development of Santiago de la Ribera," he said with a memory "that started this way and are no longer with us."

The string quartet music "Amadeus" the Conservatory of Music in San Javier, made by the teacher and students Lesster Inma Mejias Belmonte, Daniel Cánovas and Marina Rubio, were responsible for opening and closing the event.
