The House approved the creation of the Bureau of Tourism and Commerce San Javier (13/06/2013)

The full City Council today approved San Javier, unanimously, the creation and rules of organization and operation of the Bureau of Tourism and Commerce San Javier whose overall objective will be to increase the wealth and jobs that generate both.

The Councillor for Tourism, Antonio Martinez explained that this is an advisory body of active participation in which will represent all the sectors that make up the tourist and commercial fabric of the municipality with the aim of fostering a pluralistic dialogue that benefits all.

Among its functions shall advise on tourist and business issues, discuss municipal proposals and initiatives in these areas, and propose performance criteria, measures and projects.

The Board, which meets four times a year, will also be the forum to present and discuss the concerns and demands of the entities and persons represented there, and request of other authorities or bodies, support through grants, reports, or institutional collaboration, for the development of their goals.

The mayor, Juan Martínez preside over the Bureau with the Council of Tourism, Commerce and Antonio Martinez, Pedro López, as vice presidents.

Among the 15 members that form will be a representative from each political group of local opposition, as well as trade associations of San Javier, Santiago de la Ribera, and La Manga del Mar Menor.

The hotel and non-hotel business sector, as well as water activities, and hotel will have two representatives per sector, one of the mainland and one of La Manga.

Also form part of the Bureau, the village headman of Santiago de la Ribera and La Manga del Mar Menor, and technicians responsible tourism offices in both locations, and the municipal technician Local Development.

Motion recognition Onda Regional de Murcia

The plenary session today, also approved unanimously a motion to recognize the work of the local media and regional and especially radio station Onda Regional, which was introduced by the socialist municipal group.

All groups agreed to recognize the role played by the regional station since its inception in 1990 "giving visibility to the 45 municipalities in Murcia", and to recognize the work of professionals.

The motion includes a request of the plenary and the transfer of it to the regional government for the parties to reach an agreement to ensure the future of the station and that economic measures to contain spending, which has led to an ERE in the same , the least possible impact to their workers.
