The City Council shall appoint favorite son and deliver the Silver Medal of Jose Villa Ballester (14/03/2014)

The full City unanimously approved all of its components open a file for granting the Silver Medal and designation as Son of the Villa Ballester Jose Esparza.

Councillor for Culture, Inmaculada García will be the instructor of record is intended to distinguish José Ballester, teacher, writer and historian, resident of San Javier where he was born and where he has developed his professional and family life.

The mayor of San Javier, Juan José Martínez recalled that Ballester, 74, studied at the institute Alfonso X of Murcia, before entering the University where he majored in Art History.

Many generations have passed through her classroom and received his teaching at school, "Joaquin Carrion" San Javier where he worked until his retirement.

For 7 years he combined his teaching with his public dedication as a councilor in the municipality of San Javier.

Leaving school allowed him to devote himself to study and research, and in addition to found and direct the Museum of the Parish of San Javier and the Friends of Bethlehem in San Javier, of which he is honorary member, has written a couple books on San Javier.

Tireless researcher, collaborator of the municipal archives of San Javier, and author of many articles on history, has written two books, "San Javier, my people, my memories," in 2005, "Peculiarities of San Javier Postwar" in 2008.
