The Full Council of San Javier agreed yesterday officially and publicly congratulate the Association of Civil Protection Volunteers to mark the twentieth anniversary of its creation way and express their express gratitude for all services provided for the benefit of residents of the municipality San Javier and other municipalities and regions in Spain over its twenty years of existence.
All municipal corporation joined the proposal presented in plenary, the popular speaker and Security council, Jose Manuel Alarte, who recalled that the creation in March 1994 of the Association of Civil Protection Volunteers of San Javier was the germ of what later became the Municipal Civil Protection Service.
Alarte stated values ​​of voluntariness and altruism that characterize the Civil Defence volunteers "who have given their personal and family time to form, to act later in prevention efforts and protection of which have benefited all residents."
Members of San Javier Civil Protection have also been performed where necessary, as in the city of Lorca in the earthquake, support other municipalities in forest monitoring, and volunteer work as those in Galicia on the occasion of "Prestige" , among many others.
Alarte reminded that without the Civil Defence volunteers would not be possible to hold the many sporting events held in the town and many of the social, cultural holidays or events would not have the highest levels of security and protection they enjoy.
The Greeting plenary will be sent to all those volunteers that since the creation of the Association in 1994 have been part of it at some point in their lives.
